THEATRE ROYAL RESTAURANT
AN ART DECO RESTAURANT RENOVATION
The brief from Norwich Theatre Royal was for a clean and contemporary brasserie style restaurant with a nod to the Art Deco glamour, now lost but once prominent in the Theatre’s interior. The Theatre archives were a great starting point to draw inspiration from. Not only did they inform the addition of cornice detailing to the room and the Deco inspired floor but these historical images became a decorative feature in their own right as wall hung art. Working with local suppliers we crafted elements for the restaurant’s interior such as a bespoke serving station, custom built radiator covers, upholstery and carefully hand gilt picture frames which all add vital detail and personal touches that enrich the space.
